Charge overnight instead of over three days.

A 240V Level 2 circuit adds 25–40 miles of range per hour against 3–5 on a standard outlet. It is the single highest-value electrical upgrade an EV owner makes.

EV Charger Installation — an example of this kind of work
Overview

EV Charger Installation

A Level 2 charger turns an overnight top-up into a full charge. The job usually covers sizing the circuit, running it, mounting the unit and pulling the permit, for Tesla Wall Connector, ChargePoint, Emporia, Grizzl-E and other common brands.

What this job typically includes

  • Load calculation to confirm your service can carry the charger
  • Dedicated 240V circuit sized to the charger (typically 40A–60A)
  • Conduit or cable run from panel to the charging location, indoor or outdoor
  • Hardwire or NEMA 14-50 receptacle, whichever your unit requires
  • GFCI protection and disconnect where the code requires it
  • Permit, inspection, and a walkthrough of the finished install
How it works

From your request to a finished job.

  1. 01

Tell us what is going on

Call, or spend two minutes on the quote form. We ask what the problem is, what kind of property, and where you are — enough to pass it to the right contractors and no more.

  2. 02

We pass it to local electricians

Your request goes to independent electrical contractors who work in your area and do that type of work. A panel upgrade and a PLC fault are not the same trade, so the kind of job decides who sees it.

  3. 03

    Contractors get in touch

Contractors who want the job contact you directly to talk it through and give you a price. Compare them, ask questions, and choose who you want — or nobody.

  4. 04

    You decide and hire

Your agreement for the work is with the contractor you choose, not with us. Before you agree, get the quote in writing, check their licence and insurance with your state, and ask whether a permit is needed.

Questions

EV Chargers — what people ask.

Do I need a panel upgrade to add an EV charger?

Often, but not always. A load calculation is what settles it. Many 100-amp services can carry a charger if the charger supports load management or is dialled back to a lower amperage. Ask for the calculation before you accept a quote, not after.

Should I hardwire or use a 14-50 outlet?

Hardwiring is generally better — higher continuous amperage, no plug to overheat, and it is required for outdoor units in some jurisdictions. A 14-50 outlet is more flexible if you expect to move or swap the charger.

Are there rebates?

Frequently, from utilities and some states, and federal credits have applied to home charging equipment and installation in recent years. Rebate programmes change constantly — check your utility's current offer directly rather than relying on any contractor's summary, including ours.
