A hot spot is cheap. The failure it becomes is not.

Thermal imaging finds abnormal temperature rise in connections, breakers and conductors before it escalates into equipment damage, an unplanned outage, or a fire.

Preventive Maintenance & Thermal Imaging — an example of this kind of work
Overview

Preventive Maintenance & Thermal Imaging

Scheduled electrical maintenance built around infrared thermography — finding the loose connection or overloaded conductor while it is still a warm spot rather than after it becomes an outage.

What this job typically includes

  • Infrared thermographic survey of switchgear, panels, MCCs and feeders under load
  • Written report with images, temperature deltas and prioritised findings
  • Connection torque verification and re-termination of flagged points
  • Breaker exercising, cleaning and infrared window installation
  • Scheduled recurring survey programme, typically annual
  • Documentation formatted for insurers who require an IR survey
How it works

From your request to a finished job.

  1. 01

Tell us what is going on

Call, or spend two minutes on the quote form. We ask what the problem is, what kind of property, and where you are — enough to pass it to the right contractors and no more.

  2. 02

We pass it to local electricians

Your request goes to independent electrical contractors who work in your area and do that type of work. A panel upgrade and a PLC fault are not the same trade, so the kind of job decides who sees it.

  3. 03

    Contractors get in touch

Contractors who want the job contact you directly to talk it through and give you a price. Compare them, ask questions, and choose who you want — or nobody.

  4. 04

    You decide and hire

Your agreement for the work is with the contractor you choose, not with us. Before you agree, get the quote in writing, check their licence and insurance with your state, and ask whether a permit is needed.

Questions

Preventive Maintenance — what people ask.

Does equipment have to be energised for a thermal survey?

Yes, and under meaningful load — a de-energised panel shows nothing. That is precisely why it is qualified work with a documented safety procedure, and why infrared windows are worth installing on critical gear.

How often should we survey?

Annual is the common baseline for commercial and industrial distribution. Critical or heavily loaded systems, and facilities whose insurer asks for it, often go semi-annual.

What does the report actually give us?

Images with measured temperature differentials, the location and severity of each finding, and a priority for correction. The value is that it converts 'the panel feels warm' into a ranked, actionable list.
