The box behind it is the whole job.
Most fan wobble and most fallen fans trace back to the same thing: a fixture box that was never rated to carry a moving load.
Ceiling Fan Installation & Replacement
A ceiling fan needs a fan-rated box and real bracing — a standard lighting box is not built to carry a moving load. The work covers installing new fans, replacing old ones and adding switching or remotes.
What this job typically includes
- Fan-rated box installation with proper bracing between joists
- New fan assembly, balancing and mounting
- Sloped, vaulted and high-ceiling installations with downrods
- Separate fan/light switching or remote and wall-control pairing
- Replacement of an existing fixture with a fan, including new switch leg
- Removal and disposal of the old unit

Call, or spend two minutes on the quote form. We ask what the problem is, what kind of property, and where you are — enough to pass it to the right contractors and no more.

02
We pass it to local electricians
Your request goes to independent electrical contractors who work in your area and do that type of work. A panel upgrade and a PLC fault are not the same trade, so the kind of job decides who sees it.

Ceiling Fans — what people ask.
Can a ceiling fan hang from a normal light box?
No. Standard fixture boxes are rated for a static load only. A fan needs a listed fan-rated box, and in most cases a brace bar anchored to the joists.
Why does my fan wobble?
In order of likelihood: an unrated or loose box, blades out of balance or bent, or loose mounting hardware. A balancing kit fixes the blade case; the box case needs the box replaced.
Can I control the fan and light separately?
Yes — either with a two-gang switch and a second conductor in the wall, or with a remote/receiver kit when running new wire is not practical.
